Scared of heading out to the market due to Covid-19? Fear not, Grab has got you covered as they released their latest app feature, GrabSupermarket. Unfortunately, this feature is limited to users around Section 12 and 13 of Petaling Jaya for the time being.
Grab says that the introduction of this new service is their “first foray into its online grocery delivery service functioning from a fully functional and stocked dark store”.
Am I the only one who didn’t understood that? A “Dark Store” caters primarily to online shopping as it serves as a retail distribution centre. In easier a more easier to understand term, GrabSupermarket serves as the companies own grocer unlike GrabMart which delivers products sold by markets and stores via a third party source.
Grab says that the new feature will boast a wide variety of products as they aim to provide users with “a full online grocery experience with greater value and zero delivery fees”. Users will need to pre-select their items and it will be delivered to you on the next day after the order has been confirmed.
For those around Petaling Jaya who are going to try this feature, Grab encourages you to share your feedback with them for further improvement of their service in the future. As for the rest of you around Malaysia, you’ll have to wait for a bit as there has been no word for expansion to other locations as of now.
So, what do you think? If you’re trying out the new feature, do let us know your experience with it in the comments! Stay safe everyone! #KitaJagaKita
